What is a PEG tube and how can we help?

A Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy is a medical procedure where a feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall and into the stomach. Insertion of a PEG allows you to receive nutrition, fluids and/or medications directly into the stomach to ensure you continue to maintain optimal health.

Why do I need a PEG?

Peg tubes are inserted when you have problems swallowing (dysphagia).

They may also be utilised with conditions where you are struggling to acquire enough nutrients for your body. These can include; eating disorders, cystic fibrosis and gastrointestinal disorders among many others.
